Beteiligung an koordiniertem Angriff

UFC signs right wing hooligan Timo Feucht – a short look into Feucht’s far right resume

In the last couple of days German MMA-newsite Ground’n’Pound broke the news of Timo Feucht’s addition to the ‚UFC Fight Island‘ event in Abu Dhabi on the 15th of July. This is a scandal and not a well thought out decision taken by the Ultimate Fighting Championship; Timo Feucht spent his youth as an active member in Leipzig’s Neo-Nazi scene and for many years belonged to east Germany’s extreme right wing hooligan networks.

Feucht’s Resume

Timo Feucht was born in 1996, his career as a Neonazi first came to light during a clean up operation at the Leipzig premises of the far right NPD (National-Democratic Party), where Feucht was observed helping other Neonazis in their activities. In 2015 he made several appearances as a fighter at ‚Imperium Fighting Championship‘ (IFC) events, which attracted public attention because of the connection to Imperium Fight Team (IFT) and Benjamin Brinsa’s role as trainer and fighter there. During this time IFT consisted of Brinsa and Feucht together with other known neonazis and right wing hooligans from Leipzig and surrounding areas. Some members of Feucht’s IFT training partners belong to the ‚Rowdys Eastside‘. ‚Rowdys Eastside‘ are a right wing Motorcycle club with good contact to the criminal underworld. To underline this connection Feucht decided to wear a ‚Rowdys Eastside‘ t-shirt during an interview with ‚Fight24.tv‘ in 2015.

Participation in a coordinated and violent attack

In January 2016 around 220 Neonazis and right wing hooligans took part in a coordinated and violent attack on the alternative neighborhood Connewitz in Leipzig, Germany. Timo Feucht was among the attackers detained at the scene by the police. Feucht is still awaiting his court date and sentencing for the participation in this attack.
At the time of the attack on Connewitz Timo Feucht was steadfast in the right wing hooligan network connected around 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig. This hooligan network attached itself to the marches and demonstrations of the far right Leipzig PEGIDA subgroup LEGIDA. In June 2016 Feucht and other Neonazis and Hooligans were identified by witnesses provoking confrontations with Antifascists protesting the march. Tattooed on Feucht’s stomach is the text ‚Yellow Blue Army‘, in English, this is a clear reference to the Leipzig ‚Gelb-Blauen‘ (Yellow-Blue) Hooligan gang. This so-called ‚army‘ around Benjamin Brinsa was on one occasion picked up by the police, in September 2016 in Thuringia, as these far right hooligans were making their way to Gera. The hooligan’s reason for this trip was to attack the antiracist fans of their city rivals BSG Chemie Leipzig, police discovered knives among other weapons intended for use in the attack. Along with veteran Neonazis, Timo Feucht was again also present as documented in photographs taken at the meeting point of the violent mob. Only a short while before the attempted attack in Gera, Feucht publicly declared his affiliation to the Leipzig hooligan network during an in-ring appearance at ‚Imperium Fighting Championship‘, he was observed proudly waving and holding aloft a ‚VfB Leipzig Hooligans‘ flag. Up until the end of 2018 Feucht had earned himself a significant position with the Leipzig hooligan network, this is no doubt partially thanks to Benjamin Brinsa acting as his mentor. In September 2018 Brinsa took Feucht on a trip to Łódź, Poland. At the destination was a who’s who of far right protagonists from Leipzig and Erfurt, including newly imprisoned ‚Jungsturm‘ (far right hooligan gang connected to Rot Weiß Erfurt) member Theo Weiland, Neonazi music fans and far right ‚Identitären Bewegung‘ members.

UFC – we implore you to take a stand as you previously have and continue to demonstrate your opposition to repulsive right wing content along with the Neonazi and Racist exponents of abhorrent world views. We applaud your prior actions regarding bigotry and hate, such as the banning of ‚Hoelzer Reich‘ as a sponsor or the revoking of Benjamin Brinsa’s 2014 contract offer.
As you are well aware, as the worlds premier and most prestigous MMA organisation you carry a responsibility to consistently and unequivocally distance yourself from racist and Neonazi content. You have the responsibility as a role model during the production and broadcasting of MMA events. For precisely this reason, it is imperative that unacceptable and inhumane content has to be prohibited from entering the ring, mats or the octagon. Individuals, such as Feucht, don’t represent a fair play behaviour or ideals. On account of their fascist and hate-filled ideologies, they undertook violent assaults on others and are still yet to publicly distance themselves for such world views.

Our campaign supports the petition MARTIAL ARTS WITHOUT FASCISTS, the petition demands that the UFC publically distances itself from the rightwing hooligan Timo Feucht.

Our campaign exposes this scenario: Since many years European neonazis are attempting to, and sometimes succeeding to, establish themselves in the world of combat sports. They produce their own clothing brands, connect internationally in their own explicitly fascist tournaments and attempt to recruit new foot-soldiers by creeping into normal gyms. Our campaign wants to expose such activities and offers advice and information to event organisers and gyms, such as how Neonazis can be identified and how they should be dealt with.
For further arguments regarding why Neonazis and racists should not be tolerated in the gym or at your event please refer to our guidelines (in German):
